The only "experts" I know are the real estate brokers. Their perspectives tend to be highly biased (often absurdly so). I sold our family house in Banjara Hills (a nice part of town) in the middle of 2008 and it was an amazing experience (especially since I moved back to Hyd after spending most of my adult life and all my professional life in the US).
We have been looking to buy for a about 18 months. So I have some perspective from both sides. I am happy to share my experiences if you like (I consider myself well informed but certainly not an expert).
